Our Terms & Conditions

  1. By placing an order with Buy Your Wine Online you are confirming that you are 18 or older. It is illegal for us to sell alcohol to anyone under the age of 18.
  2. When you give Buy Your Wine Online your credit or debit card details you are confirming that you are either the card holder, or that you have permission from the card holder to use the card for the purpose of ordering wine.
  3. No payment will be taken from your card until the goods you have ordered are dispatched from our store, or your monthly subscription payment (if appropriate) is due. Please note, when you place an order, you can opt in to save your payment details for future purposes. We will securely store your card details so it’s easier for you to place any future orders, but we will never take payment from your card unless you authorise us to do so.
  4. Any information stored by us is done so securely and privately. Please see our privacy policy for more details.
  5. We reserve the right to cancel any orders we cannot fulfil for any reason. If your order is cancelled we will contact you to explain why and refund any money you have paid us for that order.
  6. Our standard delivery time in the UK is 3-5 working days. The delivery charge is £6.99. Orders made in the UK that are over £100 are eligible for free delivery. Next day delivery is available for the charge of £6.99. Deliveries made outside of the UK, may require a higher delivery charge, which will be determined at checkout. These orders may also be subject to longer delivery times.
  7. Delivery dates and times may vary depending on your location, or unforeseen circumstances. However we will do our best to keep you informed and notify you of any delays in your delivery.
  8. We aim to meet all delivery dates on a best endeavours basis. On the off chance, your order goes missing, or we are advised by our courier that it couldn’t be delivered, we will send you a replacement order as soon as we can. If we are unable to dispatch replacement goods within 7 days we will offer you a full refund. For these purposes, delivery takes place when products are left at your delivery address or with someone else in accordance with your instructions.
  9. For your own safety we reserve the right to contact your card issuer for the purposes of carrying out security checks.
  10. Any promotions, discounts or vouchers are single use only and not to be used in conjunction with any other promotion, discount or voucher unless otherwise stated.
  11. Taste Journey customers and Fine Wine Bottle Club members are required to give one month’s notice should they wish to cancel their subscription. Once a notice period of one month has been made, Buy Your Wine Online will cancel their membership and no further payments will be taken after their final delivery. The customer will be made aware of their final delivery date at the time of their cancellation.
  12. Products offered by us are displayed on our website(s) in ‘real time’. This is to say that any product may be withdrawn from offer without notice.
  13. If for some reason we’re unable to fulfil your exact order, we will contact you to let you know and offer suggestions of an alternative wine that you may like (of the same value). If you do not wish to substitute your order, we will cancel your order and issue a full refund if payment has already been taken.
  14. We guarantee you’ll enjoy the wines you buy from us – so if you tell us that a wine was faulty, you can return your bottle within 14 days of purchase. To learn more about returns, please see our returns policy.
  15. These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. In the event of any claim or dispute arising out of or in connection with these terms, and any orders placed thereunder, the courts of England will have exclusive jurisdiction over them.

En Primeur Terms

What is En Primeur?
Also known as Wine Futures, En Primeur refers to the process of buying wines before they are bottled and released onto the market. Wines are usually delivered 2-3 years after the vintage,

Following shipment, your wines, by default, will be stored in bond in our Customers’ Private Reserves. A monthly rental charge will be liable. If you would like your wine delivered straight away we can arrange this as per our normal delivery terms. Any rent charged on wines withdrawn within 30 days of the date of invoice for rent will be credited. Customers who elect to take their wine out of bond, whether for delivery or for storage duty paid, will be required to pay duty and VAT at the prevailing rates at the time of delivery.

Insurance and Ownership
We will remain responsible for insuring the wine at the original invoice value until your delivery and/ or storage instructions have been completed. Ownership of the wines will pass on settlement of all outstanding charges to the customer. One the settlement is completed the wine becomes the customers and shipping responsibility becomes the customers responsibility.

Order cancellation
Please note that in bond en primeur orders can be cancelled within seven working days of placing the order. A full refund of the purchase price of the wines will be given on receipt of formal notification in writing of cancellation of the order. Due to the unique nature of en primeur sales we regret that orders cannot be cancelled after this time.
